Cora’s paintings are defined by architecture, and in particular by the
architecture of New York City. Drawing inspiration from the act of
construction, and using a process of painting with wax (encaustic), Cora’s
work examines the very process of building itself. Reflecting upon the
transitory life cycle of seemingly permanent structures, and applying this
investigation to the mutable aspects of being human, Glasser’s paintings
force the viewer to ask a question most near our collective desire for
importance and meaning: What will I leave behind, and will it be
remembered?
